Stephan P. Gibbs

Stephen P. Gibbs was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 27, 1951 and passed away April 2, 2020. Steve was survived by his wife of 26 years, his mother Ms. Marie T. Gibbs with 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
steve entered the US Army October 15, 1970 and was attached to the 101st Airborne where he served in Vietnam before being wounded by mortar fire.
 
During Steve’s service in the US Army he was awarded:
National Defense Service Medal
Vietnam Service Medal
Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with 3 Palm awards
Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal
Combat Infantry Badge
Sharpshooter Badge
 
Steve spent months at Walter Reed Hospital for a traumatic brain injury from combat services in Vietnam.  He was a 100% Disabled Vietnam Veteran.
 
Steve joined the Veteran of Foreign Wars in 1973 and became a Life Member in 1993 (46 years)
